[edit] Plot
Follow the trials and tribulations of a New Jersey crime boss's personal and professional life. Tony Soprano has to deal with the inner politics of the mob business, the family crises and problems that come with having two teenage kids, and the stress of coping with a manipulative, nagging mother. He ends up short-circuiting and passing out from anxiety attacks. He agrees to attend regular therapy sessions, where we learn about a conflicted man who harkens back to an earlier time, and proclaims himself a good Catholic, yet revels in adultery, organized crime, and things his wife Carmela describes to a priest as "terrible."
Who is Tony Soprano? Is he, as he describes himself to Dr. Melfi, nothing more than a fat crook from New Jersey? And who can he trust? In Tony Soprano's life, even those nearest and dearest must be watched with a wary eye.
